An embroidered patch badge featuring the coat of arms of the City of York.
When the Coat of Arms of the City of York the arms were officially granted is unknown, but it is likely they were granted by King Edward III (around 1327-1377). King Edward III made York his capital in the fighting the Scots. The arms show the cross of St. George, the patron saint of England, and the lion of England, five lions represent the city's strong support for the monarchy. The arms were officially recorded in 1587.
This patch badge is sew-on, washable, shrinkproof and are over-locked to avoid fraying.
